🎮 ALPHA RACING GAME UPDATE 🎮 Greetings Wilders! 🖖 ⏱️ It’s time to make a pit stop to update you all on the latest news regarding the Wilder Wheels Alpha Racing experience. For those new here, we’ll share some context to get you up to speed on the matter at hand. 🏎️ 🔥 📎 CONTEXT 📎 🏁 Last December, n3o and Frank shared a short racing snippet with the community on Twitter/Discord. While it was one of the first opportunities to see the experience in motion, the team had concerns related to the quality and decided to delay the release with a new plan. 🏁 The plan prepared a select group of Allies for testing out the Wheels Alpha Racing game to explore game mechanics like unique asset experience, drivability, handling, and shifting. 🏁 Shortly after the process began, the team encountered a critical bug in the Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) multiplayer system that limited our ability to shift gears in the game. This became a major blocker for the Alpha testing experience <:sadge:990831650881540196> 🏁 We then redirected our team's efforts to developing other parts of the in-world experience. 🏁 Luckily, the Wilder community came together and upvoted to fix this bug by swarming the Unreal Engine forums. 🔗 Bug link here: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://issues.unrealengine.com/issue/UE-144539&sa=D&source=docs&ust=1665799698377472&usg=AOvVaw0CxiRE1hfCnkBUVIlBaKxM ✨ NEW UPDATES ✨ 🛞 This month, our team received a release candidate notice from UE5 stating that the bug that limited shifting gears in the racing game has indeed been fixed 🎉 The fix will be available in preview mode for testing, however is not yet deployed in their stable (production ready) build. 🛞 What that means is that the new version of UE5 (Version 5.1.0) is still in preview mode and before we can fully implement changes to our Alpha Racing Experience, it needs to be deployed to their production version 🛞 Once UE5 ships the updated version into their stable build, our team will migrate the changes within ~60 days to the Wilder World production release, and then provide a Wheels Alpha Racing Roadmap for our community to be made aware of the process and timeline. **While we don’t have a hard date for when that will be, our team will share an update when the new version gets shipped into production mode. 🥩 Updates regarding Wheels Staking will be released next week. 🛞 Lastly, we want to give a big shout out to everyone in the community who helped upvote the UE5 bug, which brought it to the top of their priority list!
